Internet Marketer, Author & Project Manager

I’ve been in the IT world for most of her adult life. I have worked for a number of large corporations and worked on projects in many different industries for customers both domestic and international.

I have four earned degrees, including an MBA and two other Masters’ degrees, as well as the Project Manager Professional (PMP) designation.

A Little Bit Country

I’m a “country girl,” having grown up on a farm that has now been in the family for four generations (my brother’s family still lives there), but I’ve taken every opportunity to broaden my horizons through international travel and other situations where I’ve been involved with people from diverse lands and cultures.

Road Warrior

I’ve been a member of the corporate “rat race” for many years – and a lot of those years have been spent as a “Road Warrior” (i.e., consultant who spends a lot of time traveling and away from home).

For the past decade or so, I’ve done a lot of independent consulting, but the current state of the economy has made my income increasingly unpredictable and subject to the whims of various organizations and their attempts to improve the bottom line via budget cutting.

Globe Trotter

I love to travel and the following map depicts the countries that I’ve visited – note, however: the map over-states the extent of those travels, since it monitors entire countries when I probably visited only a few cities in that country (except for the United States – I have visited most states, and many cities, in the USA):

My last international trip was in Feb, 2009 – I remember it clearly because I was involved in an airplane accident while I was returning to London from Amsterdam.

The British Airways plane in which I was a passenger made a very “hard” landing at London City airport, and the front wheel carriage collapsed. We skidded along the runway, the cabin filled with smoke, and the crew told us to evacuate the plane using the emergency slide from the rear door.

I followed their instructions and jumped down the slide. The next thing I knew, I way lying on the ground beside the plan, in great pain and I could not stand up.  At that point, I heard a loud bang and every airplane disaster movie I’ve ever seen flashed through my mind (but fortunately, there was no actual explosion).

Since I couldn’t walk, a couple of other passengers came and carried me away from the plane to the edge of the tarmack where I lay waiting for an ambulance to take me to the local hospital.

I spent a day in the hospital in London, and the next several weeks still in a great deal of pain. (Pain meds became my best friend during those weeks!) I remember the date clearly, too – it was a Friday, the 13th!

Coach/Mentor

I’m a firm believer in what I call “Stewardship Education” – meaning what I learn, I pass on to others. In addition, I’ve had formal coaching education from both CoachU and Corporate Coach U International, earning the Certified Coaching Workshop Facilitator certification. I’ve done both individual and group coaching for both personal and business clients.

Author

One of the ways that I do that is by writing articles – many of which you can find published at EzineArticles.com. I tend to focus on internet and affiliate marketing, baby boomers/retirement, and self-improvement, although – from time to time – I do write articles on a variety of miscellaneous topics as well.
